What it is

A restart of tor browser closes every tab, drops every circuit and starts fresh. For nexus market the restart means the login session is gone, any in flight order flow is gone, and any tab that was open on a mirror is gone with it. The three onion strings on the panel above did not travel through the browser and are unaffected.

The state right after the restart is a common one and does not need a story. The reader is about to open a fresh tab and paste a line off the panel.

What the restart cleared

• The circuit. The next request builds a new one and is slower for a moment.
• The tabs. If a tab was on a mirror, that tab is gone. The string was on the panel above and is still there.

Why a fresh session feels slow at first

The first request out of a fresh tor session has to build a new circuit and negotiate a fresh connection to the onion service. That takes longer than a page load on the same circuit a moment later. A reader who reflex reloads once, twice, three times in a row is not helping the browser build the circuit and often just resets whatever progress it had.

One quiet minute after a restart is more useful than three reloads a second apart. If the first page opens on the second minute, the session is fine. If nothing opens, that is worth reading on the mirror going quiet card, not on this one.

A restart is not the moment to change the browser security level. That is a separate decision on a calmer page.
